BabyTalkie - Privacy Policy

Privacy PolicyCreated: Aug 30, 2026

Privacy Policy

LakeSoft ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the BabyTalkie application (com.babytalkie.app, the "App") handles information.

BabyTalkie is a local-first, offline multilingual flashcard application for toddlers. The App has no user accounts, no server-side backend that stores your data, and no payment system. Almost all information stays on your device.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any account credentials. There is no login and no personal profile.

The App processes the following information locally on your device in order to function:

Flashcard content β€” the custom words you create in the App. This is stored locally and is not transmitted to any server operated by us.

Parent voice recordings β€” if you grant microphone permission, audio you record for a word card is saved locally on your device as an audio file so it can be played back with the card. Recordings are not uploaded to any server operated by us.

Images β€” if you grant camera or photo permission, photos you capture or select to create a custom card are stored locally on your device as part of that card. They are not uploaded to any server operated by us.

Device sensors β€” the App reads the accelerometer to detect a "shake" gesture. This sensor data is used only in the moment to trigger a reaction and is not stored or transmitted.

Text-to-speech β€” word pronunciation is produced by your device's built-in text-to-speech engine. The App does not transmit this content to us.

App settings and history β€” your preferences (such as language, night mode, playback options, and first-launch state), stored on your device (e.g., in local application storage / SharedPreferences). These can be cleared by you at any time.

Update check β€” to tell you when a newer version is available, the App may fetch a small, public version file over the network. This request does not include any of your personal information, recordings, images, or settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information described above is used only to:

Provide core functionality β€” creating and managing flashcards, recording and playing back a parent's voice, attaching photos, producing multilingual pronunciation, reacting to touch and shake, and applying your settings on your device.

Maintain and improve the App's local behavior and stability, and notify you of available updates.

We do not use your information for marketing or advertising, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Data Retention

Because the App is local-first, all of the information described in Section 1 is retained on your device for as long as you keep it. You control retention directly: you may delete custom cards, recordings, images, and history at any time. Uninstalling the App removes its associated local data from the device. We do not retain your data on external servers.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties such as payment processors, advertisers, or analytics providers.

The App requests network access only for the standard update check described above. It does not transmit your flashcards, recordings, images, or settings to any server operated by us.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your information at any time using tools within the App:

  • Remove individual custom cards, recordings, or images.

  • Clear recorded voice data and settings.

  • Uninstall the App to remove its locally stored data from your device.

Because we do not operate a server that stores your personal data, there are no external electronic records or physical documents of yours for us to destroy.

6. Children's Privacy

BabyTalkie is designed for use by young children under the guidance of a parent or guardian. The App does not knowingly collect, transmit, or share any personal information from children. All content a child or parent creates β€” recordings, photos, and custom cards β€” stays on the device. Features that could reach external services (such as sharing the App or opening the store) are placed behind a parental gate. If you believe a child has provided information in a way this policy does not cover, please contact us using the details below.

7. Your Rights

Since your data resides on your own device, you have direct and full control over it. You can access, correct, or delete this information yourself at any time through the App and your device settings. If you have any questions about your rights, you may contact us using the details below.

8. Contact Us
