SnapAlbum - Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy Created: Sep 4, 2026
Privacy Policy
LakeSoft ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the SnapAlbum application (com.snapalbum.app, the "App") handles information.
SnapAlbum is a local-first camera and photo organizer that helps you save photos and videos directly into albums, then move, copy, browse, and organize them quickly on your device. The App has no user accounts, no server-side backend that stores your personal data, and no payment system. Almost all information stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, account credentials, or personal profile information. There is no login and no user account.
The App accesses or processes the following information in order to provide its features:
Photos and videos - if you grant camera, photo, or video permissions, the App can capture photos and videos, show your device albums, display thumbnails and full-size media, and let you move, copy, delete, share, print, rotate, or set photos as wallpaper. Your photos and videos are stored in your device media library and are not uploaded to any server operated by us.
Album information - the App reads and manages album names, folder/bucket names, file names, media URIs, and media counts so it can display your albums and move or copy media between them. Custom album metadata, such as album names, icons, colors, sort order, and your last selected album, is stored locally on your device.
Camera data - the App uses your device camera to take photos and record videos when you choose to use the camera feature. Camera input is used only to create media that is saved on your device.
Microphone audio - if you grant microphone permission and record a video, audio may be recorded as part of that video. The App does not record standalone audio files and does not upload video audio to any server operated by us.
Media metadata - the App may read or update media-related information such as file name, album name, capture date/time, and photo location metadata when you use features that display or edit those details. Any location metadata you enter or edit is written to the media item on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Smart suggestions - the App may analyze a newly captured photo on your device to suggest an album, such as People or Documents. Face detection is used only to detect whether a face is present; it does not identify who a person is. Text recognition is used only to estimate whether a photo looks like a document. Recognized text is not stored, logged, or sent to any server operated by us.
App settings and local history - your preferences, such as language, theme mode, haptic feedback, onboarding state, selected albums, and other app settings, are stored locally on your device, for example in local application storage or SharedPreferences.
Sharing and external actions - when you choose to share a photo, video, or app link, the App uses your device's system share sheet or installed apps selected by you. When you open links, email, store pages, printing, or wallpaper features, those actions may be handled by your operating system or third-party apps that you choose to use.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information described above is used only to:
Provide core functionality - taking photos and videos, saving them into albums, browsing albums, moving and copying media, deleting media, sharing media, printing photos, setting wallpaper, editing metadata, showing thumbnails, and applying your local settings.
Provide local smart organization - suggesting albums based on on-device face detection or text recognition after capture.
Maintain and improve the App's local behavior and stability - preserving settings, remembering the last selected album, and keeping the gallery and album views up to date.
We do not use your information for marketing or advertising, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. Data Retention
Because the App is local-first, photos, videos, album metadata, settings, and related information remain on your device for as long as you keep them.
You control retention directly. You may delete photos, videos, albums, local settings, and history at any time using the App or your device settings. Uninstalling the App removes the App's associated local application data from your device. Media saved to your device media library may remain available to your device gallery unless you delete it.
We do not retain your personal data on external servers.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your photos, videos, album data, settings, or metadata with advertisers, analytics providers, payment processors, or data brokers.
The App may interact with device or platform services that you choose to use, such as:
Android media storage and gallery services for saving, reading, moving, copying, deleting, and displaying photos and videos.
The system share sheet for sharing content with apps you select.
Printing, wallpaper, email, browser, or app store services when you intentionally open those actions.
Google ML Kit / Google Play services components for on-device face detection and text recognition model support.
These services are used to provide App functionality. We do not operate a server that receives your photos, videos, albums, or personal settings.
5. Network Access
SnapAlbum is designed to work locally on your device. The App does not upload your photos, videos, album information, settings, or smart suggestion results to any server operated by us.
Network access may be used when you intentionally open external links, share the App, contact support, open the store listing, or when platform services download components needed for device functionality, such as on-device ML model support. These requests do not send your photo library, videos, album data, or settings to us.
6. Data Deletion
You can delete your information at any time using tools within the App or your device:
Delete individual photos or videos from your device media library.
Move, copy, rename, or delete albums where supported by the App.
Clear or change local app settings through the App or your device settings.
Uninstall the App to remove its associated local application data from your device.
Because we do not operate a server that stores your personal data, there are no external electronic records or physical documents of yours for us to destroy.
7. Children's Privacy
SnapAlbum is a general photo organization and camera app. It is not designed to knowingly collect, transmit, or share personal information from children. The App does not provide accounts, social profiles, third-party advertising, or behavioral analytics.
If children use the App, they should do so under the guidance of a parent or guardian. Any photos, videos, albums, and settings created through the App remain on the device unless the user intentionally shares them through device-level sharing or another app.
If you believe a child has provided information in a way this policy does not cover, please contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We design SnapAlbum to keep photo organization local to your device. Your media and settings are stored using your device's operating system storage and media library. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, including using screen locks, operating system updates, and trusted apps.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we do not operate a backend that stores your personal photos, videos, albums, or settings.
9. Your Rights
Since your data resides on your own device, you have direct control over it. You can access, correct, move, copy, or delete your photos, videos, album information, and settings through the App and your device settings.
If you have questions about your rights or this Privacy Policy, you may contact us using the details below.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or privacy practices. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and make the revised policy available through the App or the website where the policy is hosted.
