LakeSoft ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Torrent Guard: Privacy P2P application (com.torrentguard.app, the "App") handles information.

Torrent Guard is a local-first, peer-to-peer (P2P) download manager. The App has no user accounts, no server-side backend that stores your data, and no payment system. Almost all information stays on your device.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any account credentials. There is no login and no personal profile.

The App processes the following information locally on your device in order to function:

• Torrent metadata — magnet links, .torrent files, and the file lists they describe that you add to the App. This is stored locally and is not transmitted to any server operated by us.

• Download history and app settings — records of your downloads and your preferences, stored on your device (e.g., in local application storage / SharedPreferences). These can be cleared by you at any time, including through the App's Secret Mode and Auto Clean features.

• Network state — whether the device is on Wi-Fi or cellular, checked locally to power data-saving and connection-protection features. This is not recorded or transmitted to us.

• Biometric authentication — if you enable the biometric app lock (fingerprint / Face ID), authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. The App does not receive, collect, or store your biometric data.

• Consent status — your acceptance of the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy is stored locally to remember that you agreed.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information described above is used only to:

• Provide core functionality — managing torrents, downloading files, and organizing downloaded content on your device.

• Protect your privacy and data — features such as the biometric app lock, Secret Mode, Auto Clean, and cellular/Wi-Fi awareness.

• Maintain and improve the App's local behavior and stability.

We do not use your information for marketing or advertising, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Data Retention

Because the App is local-first, all of the information described in Section 1 is retained on your device for as long as you keep it. You control retention directly: you may delete torrents, downloads, and history at any time, and Secret Mode / Auto Clean can remove this data automatically. Uninstalling the App removes its associated local data from the device. We do not retain your data on external servers.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties such as payment processors, advertisers, or analytics providers.

Please be aware that Torrent Guard uses the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol. This is inherent to how P2P networks operate: when you download or share content, your device's IP address may be visible to other peers in the same swarm and to trackers. This exchange happens directly between peers over the protocol and is not something we collect or control.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your information at any time using tools within the App:

• Remove individual torrents, downloads, or downloaded files.

• Use Secret Mode and Auto Clean to automatically clear download history and related data.

• Uninstall the App to remove its locally stored data from your device.

Because we do not operate a server that stores your personal data, there are no external electronic records or physical documents of yours for us to destroy.
